This change is important for 2 reasons:
Preparation for new features
We want to give students a more personalized Ava experience. Part of this will include individual player profiles to track progress, access to special content for players to unlock, and our soon-to-be added new feature, Character Creator.
With Character Creator, students will be able to create their own unique character, enabling them to fully immerse themselves in the game with a character that represents them.
Additionally, we are adding a player profile page that shows progress through modules, coins collected, and other unlockable rewards and items.
Players can also use their collected coins in a new shop, where they can purchase items to use in World Builder.
Improved user experience
Currently, players must start a new game if they want to replay it. With this change, they’ll be able to easily replay modules and save their progress.
Players will not have to keep track of multiple save files if they want to continue from a specific point in the game. All progress data will be saved to a single player profile, where the option to skip and replay different modules and quests are on a single screen. No need to create a new save file anymore!
Players (and educators) will also be able to easily see how far they are in the game under the new system.
